Matt and Kristine Host Shower for Cole

About 30 friends and family members gathered recently at the home of Matt and Kristine (above) to celebrate the anticipated December 1 arrival of the newest Grandson, Cole.

I admit, I was a little partial to taking pictures of Luc and Payton.

That's Taylor guzzling punch through a baby bottle (one of those shower-type contests).

Grampa Mike Mann , Taylor and Payton:

Kristine, Mike and Taylor...
The whole afternoon was wonderful (and a lot more pictures were taken of people I don't know).
The ultrasound images were amazing (they've come a long way since my kids were born).

I think I've lost count of how many grandkids there are now.....

Yet Another Weight Update

Thought I'd mention that I have now lost about thirty pounds since beginning the diet. Momentum is wonderful...

Weight Update

I've made some progress since last month... about 16 pounds. Also, I've added a few more pictures. If you're interested in viewing them, use the 'gallery' link at bottom of page. More news as it happens (nothing out of the ordinary to report).

View All My Pictures

Click the title above to view my public gallery of photos, or click here. This should be easier to access than the website, and you can see many more pictures than I can post here. There's also a permanent link at the bottom of this web page.

Several of you have indicated that either you are not seeing the photos in your notification messages, or you are unable to access the actual website. I suspect that some of the problem is with the specific browser settings you may be using. In an effort to get around the problem, I am sending the URL for the website. It's

Another Great Trip to Utah

Thought I'd share a few of the 93 pictures I took of the family at Brighton's baptism.

Benjy with Keelie (top) and Mindy (below).

Another shot of Keelie...

and Aiden:

and Paige:

Brighton (I think that's Brooke in the background, hiding from the camera)

and his sister McKenna:

Aubeny with her dad, Michael.

Another shot of Aubeny...

Cayson in the front yard and Brooke at the piano (I couldn't believe she let me take her picture).

Dad and Mom showing off their musical talent

Yeah, that's me. And here are Fiauna and Mindy:

Jeannie (left) and a few shots of everyone having a good time:

Some of us found out that this much fun can tire you out...

There are obviously a lot more, but there's not enough room here to show them. Let's just say that everyone had a great time. I was sorry I had to leave!

Brighton's Big Day Approaches

I'm flying to Utah in the morning to be part of the fun at Brighton's baptism. Well, I'm also going to see all the out-of-state kids and grandkids. These baptisms are timing themselves perfectly... just when I needed a short (well very short) vacation.

The Grandkids on Memorial Day

It's nice when one generation pays respect to another.

What more appropriate way to spend Memorial Day?

(Of course, getting all those kids to smile at the same time is expecting too much!)

Luc In Love With Pre-School

The house here has been alive with the excitement of a five-year old who (better late than never) has started attending pre-school. With some luck, he'll have a few months to acclimate to the school environment before starting Kindergarten in the fall.

The reason this is newsworthy to us is that Luc has taken immediately to the experience, and is already showing some impressive progress in his learning, as well as his social, behavior. His enthusiasm reminds me of the time I first dropped Jay off for his classes at Washington Elementary, way back in 1975. If Luc takes to school like his uncles and aunts, he'll do very, very well.

By the way, I'd like to share any noteworthy milestones and accomplishments - by any of us, but especially the grandkids :-)
